Veterinary Technology Program Roadmap
The Veterinary Technology Program is designed to help students familiarize themselves with the industry and prepare them to sit for the VTNE. This national exam is necessary to practice as a veterinary technician.
Beginning with the basics such as anatomy, disease processes, and nutrition, students will soon find themselves practicing on live creatures using the equipment and supplies used at veterinary clinics. Advanced students will practice surgical and anesthetic techniques and learn laboratory processing, quality control, and veterinary practices in record-keeping.
The program aims to provide students with a strong foundation in the basics. Our graduates perform well on the VTNE and during their internships, master animal care, and we work hard to keep their skills sharp. We urge our students to attend professional conferences and visit other veterinary facilities to enhance their skills and knowledge. Our program strives to prepare all students for entry-level employment in the veterinary field.
