CAVT in the process of obtaining initial accreditation for an AAS in Dental Hygiene program through the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and is scheduled for a site visit Oct. 29-30, 2024. Upon completion of the site visit, the Commission will meet to determine if Initial Accreditation will be granted. CAVT is not permitted to enroll students during this process, however, would like to share some general information about the upcoming program.
CAVT will offer a state-of-the-art facility and equipment in the southern Colorado Springs area. The Dental Hygiene program will provide a respectful learning environment where professional values are emphasized. CAVT is committed to offering a quality education while contributing to the oral health needs of the surrounding community.
The unofficial proposed curriculum will include general education pre-requisite courses for acceptance. Three classes of 20 students each will be admitted annually. The core curriculum will include 5 twelve-week terms in dental hygiene. More information can be found on the DH Curriculum page.

Interested in Teaching?
CAVT will be hiring several full-time faculty to meet the needs of the Dental Hygiene Program. Requirements for teaching will include current Colorado RDH licensure and a Bachelor’s degree. Please contact the Program Director for more information.
